Summary: 

Customers responsible for managing hosted IT systems that use CMS Simple Mail Transport Protocol (SMTP) Cloud email relays to generate and send emails are encouraged to register and attend CMS Cloud Office Hours [ https://cms.zoomgov.com/meeting/register/vJIsc-GuqzkuE_j3S4ejBINPUl7oyr8YEGU ] on *June 6, 2024*. This session will support customers and drive CMS Cloud's effort to comply with Executive Order 14028 and CMS security policy.

 

Background

IT systems that generate emails through the CMS Cloud email relay servers using Simple Mail Transport Protocol (SMTP) are required to use the updated the connection details and enable encryption by *August 31, 2024. *Customers are encouraged to update using the new connection string [ https://cloud.cms.gov/introduction-email-as-service ] and configure encryption as soon as possible to prevent service interruption.
