*WASHINGTON* - Today, Secretary Kristi Noem addressed the indictment of a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agent accused of human smuggling and drug trafficking.

A statement from Secretary Noem is below:

"“To traffic drugs and smuggle humans while wearing the badge is not only a disgusting betrayal of our patriotic Customs and Border Protection agents, but of our nation and the American people. Manuel Perez will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”"

The CBP Agent was arrested by fellow federal agents at the Paso del Norte Port of Entry on February 8.

WASHINGTON--Effective immediately, FEMA is terminating the employment of four individuals for circumventing leadership to unilaterally make egregious payments for luxury NYC hotels for migrants. Firings include FEMA’s Chief Financial Officer, two program analysts and a grant specialist.

WASHINGTON--The Department of Homeland Security recently fired four Federal Emergency Management Agency employees for making unauthorized payments to luxury hotels in New York City. A DHS spokeswoman issued the following statement on recouping the $59 million payment.

"“Secretary Noem has clawed back the full payment that FEMA deep state activists unilaterally gave to NYC migrant hotels. ""FEMA was funding the Roosevelt Hotel that serves as a Tren de Aragua base of operations and was used to house Laken Riley’s killer. ""There will not be a single penny spent that goes against the interest and safety of the American people.”"

**Market Survey Report Available **for Blue Unmanned Aircraft Systems for First Responders* *

The Science and Technology Directorate’s National Urban Security Technology Laboratory [ https://www.dhs.gov/science-and-technology/national-urban-security-technology-laboratory ] (NUSTL) released a new market survey report aimed at providing emergency responders with information that will guide emergency response agencies in making operational and procurement decisions.

Blue Unmanned Aircraft Systems for First RespondersOver the past decade, first responders have begun integrating small unmanned aerial systems (UAS) as a resource for a variety of operational needs. UAS, often referred to as “drones,” are used by first responders in support of public safety activities such as search and rescue, firefighting, and post incident reconstruction. UAS provide first responders with an aerial view of their environment and can be outfitted with various sensors tailored to different applications.

NUSTL’s Blue UAS for First Responders Market Survey Report [ https://www.dhs.gov/science-and-technology/saver/blue-uas-first-responders ] is based on information gathered from manufacturer and vendor websites, and internet research. NUSTL identified 17 products ranging in price from $12,995 to $120,000. WASHINGTON - Today, Secretary Kristi Noem announced a nationwide and international multimillion-dollar ad campaign warning illegal aliens to leave our country now or face deportation with the inability to return to the United States. The international ads warn criminal illegal aliens not to come to America and break its laws or they will be hunted down and deported.

This series of ads will run on radio, broadcast, and digital, in multiple countries and regions in various dialects. Ads will be hyper-targeted, including through social media, text message and digital to reach illegal immigrants in the interior of the United States, as well as internationally.

WASHINGTON – In a single month, President Trump and Secretary Noem have made massive strides to address the crisis at the southern border and remove violent criminal aliens from American communities. This is just the beginning of the golden age of America.

*PROMISES MADE, PROMISES KEPT:  *

* On day one, President Trump declared a *national emergency* at the southern border and restarted construction of the border wall.
* President Trump instantly reinstated *“Remain in Mexico”* and *ended catch and release*.

* The Trump administration has empowered our brave men and women in ICE, Border Patrol, and Coast Guard to use *common sense* to do their jobs effectively.

* DHS has repealed Biden Era rules that allowed criminal aliens to hide from law enforcement in places like schools and churches to avoid arrest.

* DHS returned to using the term “illegal alien” to use statutory language and stop political correctness from hindering law enforcement.

* ICE arrests of criminal aliens have *doubled *and arrests of fugitives at large has *tripled*.

* Daily border encounters have *plunged 93% *since President Trump took office.

* To fulfill President Trump’s promise to carry out mass deportations, the administration is detaining illegal aliens, including violent criminals, at *Guantanamo Bay*.

* President Trump designated international cartels and other criminal gangs, such as MS-13 and Tren de Aragua, as *Foreign Terrorist Organizations*.

* President Trump signed the *Laken Riley Act *which mandates the federal detention of illegal immigrants who are accused of theft, burglary, assaulting a law enforcement officer, and any crime that causes death or serious bodily injury.

* President Trump stopped the *broad abuse of humanitarian parole* and returned the program to a case-by-case basis.

* Secretary Noem ended the previous administration’s extension of *Venezuelan Temporary Protected Status. *

* DHS *froze all grants* to non-profit organizations that* facilitate illegal immigratio**n*.

* DHS *deputized *the Texas National Guard, Drug Enforcement Administration, Bureau of Prisons, U.S. Marshals, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, members of the State Department and the IRS to help with immigration operations.

* Secretary Noem clawed back *$80 million* that FEMA deep state activists unilaterally gave to put illegal aliens up in luxury New York City hotels.

*Bottom Line: *Since President Trump was inaugurated, he’s made it clear there is a new sheriff in town. The President and Secretary Noem will continue fighting every day to secure our borders and keep American communities safe.

*Secretary Noem Rescinds Previous Administration's Extension of Haiti’s Temporary P**rotected Status *

WASHINGTON – Today, Secretary Noem vacated a decision by the previous administration to extend Haiti’s Temporary Protect Status (TPS) by 18 months. As part of this move, Haiti’s TPS will end on August 3, 2025, unless extended. This is part of President Trump’s promise to rescind policies that were magnets for illegal immigration and inconsistent with the law.

TPS is a type of immigration status available to nationals of certain designated countries that allows aliens, *even if they entered the country illegally*, the ability to reside *temporarily* in the U.S. The Secretary of Homeland Security is authorized to designate a foreign country for TPS if there is an ongoing armed conflict, an environmental disaster, or extraordinary and temporary conditions.

For decades the TPS system has been exploited and abused. For example, Haiti has been designated for TPS since 2010. The data shows each extension of the country's TPS designation allowed more Haitian nationals, even those who entered the U.S. illegally, to qualify for legal protected status.

In May of 2011, DHS estimated that *57,000* Haitians were eligible to register for TPS. In August 2021, DHS estimated that *155,000 *Haitians were eligible under the new designation. And by July 2024, the estimate skyrocketed to *520,694*.

A statement from a DHS spokeswoman:

"“Biden and Mayorkas attempted to tie the hands of the Trump administration by extending Haiti's Temporary Protected Status by 18 months—far longer than justified or necessary."

Last month, Secretary Noem similarly rescinded the previous administration’s Venezuela TPS extension.
