MFA Enrollment for IDM Okta
*Date:*
08/30/2024 11:00am EST
*Summary:*
"For applications residing on ""test.idp.idm.cms.gov" [ http://test.idp.idm.cms.gov/ ]
IDM will re-enable email as an optional factor in the IDM TEST environment. This change will bring the MFA enrollment policies in line with the configurations prior to the OIE Upgrade.
We anticipate the following impacts:
· Accounts that automatically had email enrolled for MFA but never logged in to use it will no longer have that email enrolled for MFA and upon 1st login will need to enroll an MFA option.
· Non-EUA accounts that do not use email or SMS for MFA may be prompted to enroll one of them for account recovery.
· Resetting a user's MFA factors will once again bring up the MFA enrollment page when logging into IDM TEST.
· For integrations with self-hosted sign-in widgets - If Interactive Code is not turned on, these applications may experience problems enrolling users with MFA factors during login.
· Additionally, a new policy will be implemented for testing accounts that have been approved to bypass MFA, thus preventing unnecessary prompts for factor enrollment.
