What’s New?
Under the Medicare Part B statutory benefit, Medicare national payment allowances for COVID-19 vaccines for the current formulation, effective August 27, 2025, are now available [ https://www.cms.gov/medicare/payment/part-b-drugs/vaccine-pricing ]. Providers, pharmacies, clearinghouses, and other parties involved in Medicare billing may also refer to the available files [ https://www.cms.gov/medicare/payment/part-b-drugs/asp-pricing-files ], including the crosswalk of Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) codes to National Drug Codes (NDCs). As in prior years, manufacturers and distributors make available the new formulations of the COVID-19 vaccines to providers and retail establishments very quickly following approval by the Food and Drug Administration. Organizations may choose to use these resources from CMS to update your billing systems off-cycle for COVID-19 vaccines, that is, to update earlier than a typical quarterly update for October 1 to reflect current Medicare payment allowances and the most recent crosswalk of HCPCS to NDCs.
