Welcome to our first edition of the ASP Newsletter! In each edition, you can expect to receive information on the current reporting window, enhancements made to the ASP Data Collection System, new resources and policy information, and upcoming ASP events. Current Reporting Window

The ASP Data Collection System [ https://portal.cms.gov/portal/ ] is now open to receive ASP data for the second calendar quarter of 2024. Sales data of drugs and biologicals separately payable under Medicare Part B for the months of April, May, and June 2024 are due to CMS on *Tuesday, July 30, 2024*.

As a reminder, manufacturers of drugs and biologicals separately payable under Medicare Part B must report accurate ASP data to CMS, as described in sections 1927(b)(3), 1847A(c), and 1847A(f) of the Social Security Act and in regulation at 42 CFR 414 Subpart J.

ASP Data Collection System Updates

In this section, we will share information about any updates and enhancements to features and functionalities in the ASP Data Collection System. For this quarter, there are no new enhancements in the system to report. This Release Notes [ https://www.cms.gov/medicare/payment/part-b-drugs/asp-education-outreach/asp-data-collection-system-upgrade-release-notes-april-1st-2024 ] document contains a comprehensive list of items that were added, updated, or removed with the launch of the modernized system on April 01, 2024.

What’s New?

* The Regulations and Policy page [ https://www.cms.gov/medicare/payment/part-b-drugs/asp-regulations-policy ] of the ASP website [ https://www.cms.gov/medicare/payment/fee-for-service-providers/part-b-drugs/average-drug-sales-price ] [ https://www.cms.gov/medicare/payment/fee-for-service-providers/part-b-drugs/average-drug-sales-price ]has been recently updated. This page was redesigned to serve as a single resource for all ASP-related authorities, including the governing statutes and regulations, guidance, and other related policies. The website includes a chart with links to the authority, as well as a brief description. We hope this page becomes a place you will frequently visit to stay up to date on ASP and Medicare Part B Drug policies.
* The Education & Outreach resource library [ https://www.cms.gov/medicare/payment/part-b-drugs/asp-education-outreach ] has a few new resources:

Upcoming Events

CMS will host webinars on Tuesday, July 16 and Thursday, July 18, 2024, for manufacturers of skin substitute products. These sessions are designed to provide an overview of the ASP data collection process and will address some of the more nuanced scenarios that affect data entry in the ASP Data Collection System for manufacturers of skin substitute products.
