Ashburn BDC Tenant Functional Exercise

Summary
The Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity (DCBR) team is executing a disaster recovery/business continuity exercise to validate the recoverability of the Ashburn BDC Tenant. The Tenant and its network—which includes all BDC Production Applications—will be failed over from its primary location in Ashburn, Virginia to its alternate site in Kent, Washington. This exercise is scheduled for* Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. ET.* The event is being conducted to validate the failover of the BDC Tenant and its network into its alternate, geographically dispersed recovery site in Kent, WA.The exercise will take place on *Saturday, July 26, at 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. ET. *During the exercise window, all BDC Production Applications will be unavailable to both developers and customers who attempt to sign in or view benefits. Communications will continue on a monthly, weekly, then bi-weekly basis as the event draws nearer.
Action
No action is required at this time. More information about the exercise will be communicated as it becomes available. Additionally, a Town Hall will be hosted on Thursday, June 26, to provide in-depth details and answer questions. Town Hall sign up information and times will be made available in following communications.
