*01/31/2025 - Splunk Prod - Resize the Splunk Prod instances from 66 x 24XL's to 54 x 24XL's*

*Summary:*

The CMS Hybrid Cloud team will scale down Splunk indexer infrastructure as part of post Open Enrollment (OE) resizing. We will scale down in groups of six indexers starting on 1/31 thru 2/2. We will fit in as many groups as we can in the change window.  

*Actions we are taking*


* Downscaling Splunk indexers.
* Splunk and ITSI will be placed in maintenance mode during each downscale event..

*When is this happening?*

Start Time: Friday, 01/31/2025 at 6:00 pm ET
End Time: Sunday, 02/02/2025 at 11:00 pm ET

*Who will be impacted?*
DRaaS ITSI, MITG MSI and EMM may have performance impacts when the Cloud Splunk indexers are being configured. Also, CCIC search heads peered to the Splunk environment might be impacted.

*What is the impact?*
There will be latency in adhoc searches that are performed by customers. Dashboards might also render slowly and have incomplete data while the changes are being propagated.

*Benefits of the change;*
This is part of OE12 close out tasks

02/01/2025 - Enterprise Confluence Maintenance

*Summary:*

Enterprise Confluence (https://confluenceent.cms.gov/) maintenance activity on Saturday, 01 Feb 2025  beginning at 12:00 p.m. ET

*Actions we are taking*


* Upgrade Enterprise Confuence RDS (PostgreSQL) to 14.12

*When is this happening?*

Start Time: Saturday, 02/01/2025 at 12:00 p.m. ET
End Time: Saturday, 02/01/2025 at 4:00 p.m. ET

*Who will be impacted?*

All Enterprise Confluence Users

*What is the impact? *

Enterprise Confluence (https://confluenceent.cms.gov/)  production instance will be unavailable during the maintenance window outlined above.
