Good Jobs change Lives: Helping Disabled Workers Get Ahead. October 24, 2024, 2:00–3:00 p.m. ET”

Promising Practices in Achieving Nondiscrimination and Equal Opportunity
Reading, “UPDATE,” underlined.
The Department of Labor (DOL) has just released the updated guide “Promising Practices in Achieving Nondiscrimination and Equal Opportunity: A Section 188 Disability Reference Guide” to help American Job Centers (AJCs) and their partners in the workforce development system better serve people with disabilities. DOL’s amendments to the guide help AJCs increase accessibility and inclusivity and meet the nondiscrimination and equal opportunity requirements for people with disabilities in Section 188 of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act. Updates include but are not limited to affirmative outreach to diverse populations, effective communication to increase accessibility for d/Deaf and hard-of-hearing people, and use of newer technologies.
