*02/18/2025 - Splunk Prod - Rebalance Indexers *

*Summary:*

Following the capacity increase to our Logging Service this past weekend, the CMS Hybrid Cloud team will perform maintenance to rebalance the data across the indexing cluster as a way to improve data resilience and system performance. This rebalance will be performed outside of business hours which began on 02/18/2025 and will continue through the weekend.

*Actions we are taking:*

Initiating Indexer Rebalancing to maximize the number of buckets replicated to the new indexers.

*When is this happening:*


* Tuesday February 18 at 9:00 PM ET through Wednesday February 19 at 6:00 AM ET
* Wednesday February 19 at 9:00 PM ET through Thursday February 20 at 6:00 AM ET
* Thursday February 20 at 9:00 PM ET through Friday February 21 at 6:00 AM ET
* Friday February 21 at 9:00 PM ET through Monday February 24 at 6:00 AM ET

*Who will be impacted?*

DRaaS ITSI, MITG MSI and EMM may have performance impacts during the rebalancing. Also, CCIC search heads peered to the Splunk environment might be impacted.

*What is the Impact:*

During the change window there will be latency in Splunk searches. Dashboards might also be rendered with incomplete data.

*02/22/2025 - Enterprise Testing Services Maintenance*

*Summary:*

In order to keep up to date with the latest versions and security advisories, the CMS Hybrid Cloud team will be performing maintenance updates on Enterprise Testing tools.

*Actions we are taking:*


* Reset AD service account for Selenium Box AD/LDAP integration
* Update Selenium Box license files
* Update Selenium Box Hub and Executors with the latest Amazon Linux 2023 Gold Image for CMS Cloud

*When is this happening?*

Start time: Saturday 02/22/2025 at 9:00 a.m. ET

End time: Saturday 02/22/2025 at 11:59 a.m. ET

*Who will be impacted?*

All AWS Commercial and GovCloud customers of Selenium Box.

*What is the impact? *

Customers should expect downtime for the service as instances are restarted within the maintenance window.

*02/22/2025 DevOps Services Maintenance*

*Summary:*

CMS Hybrid Cloud will be performing maintenance updates on its DevOps tools.

*Actions we are taking:*


* Upgrade CloudBees Jenkins CI, Jfrog, and SonarQube
* Upgrade nodes to latest EKS gold image for CMS Cloud Jfrog, CBJ and SonarQube
* Upgrade EKS add-ons and supporting components

*When is this happening?*

Start time: Sunday, 02/22/2025 at 09:00 p.m. ET
End time: Sunday, 02/22/2024 at 01:00 a.m. ET

*Who will be impacted?*

All AWS Commercial and GovCloud customers of CloudBees, JFrog, and SonarQube.

*What is the impact? *

Customers should expect a short downtime for each service as instances are restarted within the maintenance window.

* SSM Linux & Windows Vulnerability Patching

*Actions we are taking: *

As part of our normal patching, the CMS Hybrid Cloud team will apply the latest Windows and Linux patches. This week's patches will impact the PROD environment for the affected Non-Marketplace applications noted below.

*When is this happening?*

Start Time: Wednesday,  02/26/2025 at 9:00 p.m. ET

End Time: Thursday,  02/27/2025 at 2:00 a.m ET

*Who will be impacted? *
