US Department of Labor awards $2M for Washingtonians affected by Boeing layoffs [ http://www.dol.gov/newsroom/releases/eta/eta20250403-0 ] 04/03/2025 08:00 AM EDT
WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Labor today awarded $2 million to Washington to help workers dislocated by Boeing’s companywide reductions. The funding will ensure impacted workers have access to needed resources, including employment and training services.Administered by the department’s Employment and Training Administration, this National Dislocated Worker Grant enables Washington to provide job search assistance and follow-up services for workers affected by the layoffs, including more than 2,000 in King and Snohomish counties. The award will help support individualized training and guidance to prepare workers to reenter and advance in high-quality jobs within growing industries. Supported by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014, National Dislocated Worker Grants provide a state or local board with funding for direct services and assistance in areas experiencing a major economic dislocation event that leads to workforce needs exceeding available resources.  body { font-size: 1em; font-family: Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-weight: normal; font-style: normal; color: #333333; }
