Upcoming MIPS Important Dates and Deadlines for PY 2024

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) would like to remind clinicians of important upcoming Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) dates and deadlines for the 2024 performance year, including changes to the Targeted Review timeline effective this year.

*March 2025:* *Data Submission Deadline & 4th APM Snapshot Published*


* Reminder: Submit your 2024 performance year data and review the data submitted on your behalf by *8 p.m. ET on March 31, 2025*.
* Review your data for completeness and accuracy before the submission period closes; you can’t correct your data after the submission period has closed.
* * Note*: For more information, watch the MIPS Data Submission Process Demonstration (VIDEO) [ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36qkokck__0 ].

* MIPS eligibility for the 2024 performance year will be updated based on the December 31st Alternative Payment Model (APM) snapshot [ https://qpp.cms.gov/apms/apm-determination-periods ].
* *Note*: MIPS APM participation information will be available on the Quality Payment Program (QPP) Participation Status Tool [ https://qpp.cms.gov/participation-lookup ].

*Mid-June 2025: Final Scores Released and Targeted Review Opens*


* Final scores based on the data submitted for the 2024 performance year will be released.
* *(New Timing)* Targeted Review will open as soon as MIPS final scores are available. The Targeted Review period will be open for approximately 60 days.
* *Note:* For the last several years, Targeted Review has opened in August with the release of MIPS payment adjustments. *Mid-July 2025:* *Payment Adjustments Released*


* *(New Timing)* 2026 payment adjustment information released based on data submitted for the 2024 performance year. Targeted Review will close 30 days after payment adjustments are released.

*Mid-August 2025: Targeted Review Closes*


* *(New Timing)* Targeted Review closes 30 days after the release of payment adjustment information.
* *Note*: Targeted Review previously closed in mid-October.
