05/10/2024 - Splunk version upgrade

*Summary*

CMS Cloud will be upgrading Splunk to the latest version starting this Friday, May 10th at 06:00 p.m. ET.

*Actions we are taking*

Splunk will be placed in maintenance mode.

Splunk version will be upgraded.

*When is this happening?*

Start Time: Friday, 05/10/2024 at 6:00 p.m ET

End Time:  Sunday, 05/12/2024 at 11:00 p.m ET

*Who will be impacted?*

DRaaS ITSI, MITG, MSI and EMM may have performance impacts at various times during the upgrade. CCIC search heads peered to the Splunk environment may also be impacted. 

*What is the impact? *

There will be intermittent downtime and/or degraded search performance during the maintenance window.  

*Benefits of the change *

Several security vulnerabilities and bugs will be fixed.

05/16/2024 - batCAVE Infrastructure Maintenance - PROD

*Summary*

In order to keep up to date with the latest versions and security advisories, the batCAVE PROD Infrastructure team will perform maintenance next Thursday evening beginning at 9:00 p.m. ET. 

*Actions we are taking*

Upgrade to a new EKS release

*When is this happening?*

Start Time: Thursday, 05/16/2024 at 9:00 p.m. ET.

End Time: Thursday, 05/16/2024 at 11:59 p.m. ET.

*Who will be impacted?*

batCAVE ADO development teams and their users: FFSDCS, QMMS, SDL, DACS, CyberGeek, EPPE, eRPT, SIGNAL.

*What is the impact? *

Customers should expect a short downtime as instances are restarted within the maintenance window.

Updated Gold Images for the Windows, Amazon Linux 2, and RedHat Enterprise Linux Operating Systems are in development and will be released for consumption next week to all CMS Cloud environments.

CMS Cloud will be performing maintenance updates on its DevOps tools.

*Actions we are taking*


* Maintenance for production environments of DevOps Services in CMS Cloud.
* Update all services with the latest Amazon Linux 2 Gold Image for CMS Cloud.
* Upgrade EKS in our production CloudBees environments
* EC2 instance changes to production CloudBees environments
* Connect Datadog to Victor Ops

*When is this happening?*

Start time: Friday, 05/17/2024 at 9:00 p.m. ET
End time:  Saturday, 05/18/2024 at 1:00 a.m. ET

*Who will be impacted?*
All AWS Commercial and GovCloud customers of CloudBees, JFrog, and SonarQube on CMS Cloud.

*What is the impact?*
Customers should expect a short downtime for each service as instances are restarted within the maintenance window
